Docu-Style Web Ad

The bearded, tattooed Marine veteran sitting across from us said, “Man, I could break down an M16, get clear double feed, but when it came to ringing up broccoli, I had to rely on people.” A former Marine becoming a store manager for Sam’s Club might seem like an unpredictable transition to most, but to Jeremy, once he figured out how to ring up broccoli, the transition felt right. 

In a Veteran’s Day ad, Walmart wanted to showcase their support for veterans, and maybe recruit a few more Marines to fill their ranks. For Jeremy, the Walmart brand culture fits with values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment in the Marine Corp, so when he was tapped to film, he knew he wouldn’t have to gin up the enthusiasm.
